Topics 3 and 4 QUIZ tomorrow. We went over the reveiw in class today.
Midterm will be on Thursday, November 5th (unit one and two - multiple choice - 45-60 questions. Students will have study guides and plenty of time in class to practice/prepare.

Students were given a topics 3/4 review in class today...due tomorrow (most finished in class). We will go over the review tomorrow (Tuesday) and there will be a quiz on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28th.
Things to know: be able to label the parts of a flower (and know their functions); two types of plant reproduction and the difference between the two; 3 examples of asexual/vegetative reproduction; Ways that seeds are dispersed; definitions of: stamen, pistil, germination, irrigation, monoculture, selective breeding, embryo.
Ask your kids about the flowers in class...some COOL osmosis happening:) I love my energetic/enthusiastic crew!!
There will be a topics 1 and 2 quiz tomorrow (October 20th). A review was given out on Friday and we completed the review and went over it in class today. The review is also in Google Classroom:)
Welcome back. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Today, we went through unit 2 - topic 1 (plants for food and fiber) in google slides. Please see Google classroom for the slides if you were absent. No homework or upcoming quizzes yet.
Unit 2 notes were handed out today and we discussed plants used for food and medicine. Notes and Bill Nye video are in google classroom.

Students worked on the unit one study guide in class today. Tomorrow we will be doing some whiteboard/game review in class to help prepare for the UNIT ONE TEST WEDNESDAY. The code for quizizz is: 58111152. Students will go to quizizz.com, join a game, type in the code provided and then have some fun playing the review game.
**Students need to use first or last names for the game...NO code names please!
We went over the topics 5-7 review in class today. Students started their interactive notebook for unit 1 (see classwork for the assignment page in Google classroom if needed). UNIT 1 study guide will be given out tomorrow. Unit 1 test will be on Wednesday, October 7th
Students worked on a topics 5-7 review today. We will be going over the review tomorrow in class. There will be a UNIT ONE test coming up next week (most likely Wednesday). Students will have a study guide to help prepare for it (we will also do plenty of review in class before the test). Study guide will be given out on Thursday.
Students have been working on their "Create an Animal" assignment. We used the chromebooks today so they could get some picture ideas. This assignment will be due on Wednesday, September 23rd. Students will have had 3 full class periods to work on the assignment, which is plenty.
Students will also have a quiz on Wednesday for topics 3 and 4. A review will be given to students on Tuesday and we will go over it in class.
Thursday, September 17th:
Students will be starting a project 'Create an Animal' tomorrow. It's super fun. The assignment covers what they have learned in the last 4 topics. Students will have 2 full class periods to work on this.
Friday, September 11th:
Topics 1 and 2 QUIZ - Tuesday, September 15th (students were given a review and we will be going over the review in class on Monday)
Need to know: ecosystem, ecology, adaptations, symbiosis (3 kinds (mutualism, parasitism, commensalism) and provide examples), natural resources, human impacts on the environment.
Students are working on an adaptation assignment (feel free to ask your child about some cool adaptations they have discovered). Computer lab is booked for Friday and Monday. This assignment will be due Tuesday, September 15th.
